    Due to staffing issues the Aiken County Animal Shelter has closed their doors on Saturday’s for a little over a month. However, this upcoming Saturday they are relaunching their Saturday adoption hours. Adoptions can be made from 11:30am to 4:00pm. The shelter has been at capacity consistently since last summer with more than 300 animals at all times. They are hoping these new hours will help lower that number. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital is the largest inpatient Burn Center in the U.S. Now, they are seeing a trend with girls being burned while getting their hair done. One of those girls is Gordasha Harris, a 7 year old who is on the road to recovery.  “I was crying, and I was mad and I was scared,” burn patient Gordasha Harris said.     One man is charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting under $500. According to the incident report, Jerome Keith Farmer was arrested Friday after trying to steal more than 30 items, totaling $145.34, from the Walmart on Wrightsboro Road. Farmer was reported walking around the store for 10 hours, and made multiple purchases on the self-checkout.     A vet in Augusta is saying a recovered dog is very lucky. The dog was recovered on Sunday and an Augusta vet is saying it looks like he was in a dog fighting ring.
